About Me

My name is Jason Tai Dang. I am a 27 year old Vietnamese-American, born and raised in Houston, Texas. I've been BBoying/Breaking since the summer of 2006 and I've dedicated more than half of my life crafting my technique, artistry, and musicality into the Hip Hop/Breakin' culture. After graduating high school, I shared my passion and dove into teaching students in after-school programs, studios, or BBoys/Hip Hop dancers in the Houston surrounding area.

When I wasn't teaching, I'd compete and perform by myself or with my crew, The Brothers. We'd travel to different competitions across the United States including Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Texas, and New York resulting in many new friends and victories. I appreciate the lessons learned in any losses because I'd come back inspired to improve my skills.

With an immense passion for movement, I furthered my education at San Jacinto Community College (South Campus) and received an Associate of Arts emphasis on Dance. Upon returning to college, I joined Cirque La Vie, a local Houston Cirque/Circus Arts company that performs around Houston and learned the skill of one hand balancing. After training, performing, and teaching one hand balancing, I bridged my balancing passion from Breaking and Cirque arts with yoga; I trained with Lex Gillian at The Yoga Institute to complete my 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher Training (RYTT-200), becoming a certified yoga teacher.

After community college, I transferred and auditioned to be apart of the dance program at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas where I am currently earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Fall 2020.

I will continue to learn and practice my love for dance and movement, with the support of my family and friends. With an open heart and curious mind, I will continue to explore my versatility as a teacher, dancer, performer and person.
